The Miracle Mile in Los Angeles, California is a neighborhood in the Mid-Wilshire district consisting of a 1.5 mile stretch of Wilshire Boulevard between Fairfax and Highland. In 1921 Real Estate developer A.W. Ross paid a now unheard of amount of $54,000 for 18 acres of land along the south side of Wilshire Boulevard between La Brea and Fairfax. What finally signaled the Miracle Mile's success was the 1929 arrival of the Desmond Building at Dunsmuir Avenue, which still stands today. Since 1929, the Miracle Mile has gone through many changes and unofficially expanded to streets beyond Highland, Fairfax and Wilshire.
This collection is one created out of nostalgic love of the neighborhood I've called home for over 40 years.
Much has changed since my childhood but the memories are fond and forever in my heart.
Miracle Mile, I've got nothin' but love for you!
